Easy to use Accessible Bath Taps

Taps for disabled baths are typically operated by either a long lever or by sensors that detect movement in front of the tap. The main advantage of a bath tap designed for use by a disabled person is that it can be operated with a closed fist and requires minimal finger dexterity.

Bath taps can be timed-flow (the water stops after a preset amount of time) or more typical on/off. The user turns the tap on to fill the bath, then turns it off when the bath is sufficiently filled. Bath taps will have either a separate hot and cold tap or a mixer tap that blends hot and cold water to a warm temperature.

It is advisable to include a TMV within the bath tap plumbing to prevent the user from scalding themselves, particularly when dealing with vulnerable people.
