Twin Disabled Washroom Refurbishments 

These twin Disabled Washroom Refurbishments were part of a much broader Washroom and building renovation project and required us to adhere to Document M and Document T that govern technical guidance on the design and layout of universal toilets, ambulant toilets and toilet cubicles requirements.

At Disabled Washrooms, we are experts at Refurbishing Accessible Washrooms with meticulous planning while adhering to tight timeframes. Working closely with the main contractor, we helped plan layout drawings and iron out the finer details of the cubicles and toilet requirements. 

The rooms had a new ceiling installed and fresh flooring. The remit was to deliver a clean and sophisticated room, and the client chose cubicle panels with a birch ply finish, which gave the room a warm Scandinavian feel.

All plumbing is hidden using a Duct set, a framework fitted to create a false wall and service void. Within this Duct set, all the cisterns, mains feed pipework, and waste pipes are concealed behind panels made from Solid Grade Laminate (SGL), which was finished with Marble Altro Hygienic Cladding. This meant we could then fit Armitage Shanks Back-To-Wall Toilets, which give a clean, minimalistic finish.

Grab Rails and Toilet seats are stylish while still meeting LRV requirements. 

Light Reflectance Value (LRV) in disabled washrooms is a measurement of the usable light reflected by a surface, ranging from 0 (total light absorption/black) to 100 (maximum reflection/white). It is used to ensure, as per Approved Document M and BS8300-2:2018, that key fixtures like grab rails contrast with walls to assist users with visual impairments.
